24 October 2017: Deposit Guarantee Scheme Payments Issued
Following invocation of the Deposit Guarantee Scheme on 13th October 2017, the DGS has issued compensation payments by cheque to over 10,900 members of Charleville Credit Union. The total amount of compensation paid amounts to approximately €39.2 million representing over 98% of eligible deposits covered by the Scheme. Members should start receiving their payments shortly.
In certain instances, the DGS may need some additional information before payments are made, for example in the case of an estate. Further information can be found in FAQ's included on the Deposit Guarantee Scheme website www.depositguarantee.ie.
The Provisional Liquidator's will shortly be posting out statements to members which will confirm the balances that were held in their accounts.
13th October 2017: Joint Provisional Liquidators Appointed
BDO wish to confirm that by Order of the High Court, David O’Connor and Jim Hamilton were appointed as Joint Provisional Liquidators of Charleville Credit Union Limited with effect from today, Friday 13th October 2017.
All eligible members’ shares / deposits will be repaid in full under the Deposit Guarantee Scheme. Arrangements are being made to ensure this happens as quickly as possible.
